Often times I’m asked “what’s a mixologist”? Well, a mixologist is more than someone who makes drinks. A mixologist is someone who has mastered the craft of mixing flavors to create cocktails that tell a story--all while expressing creativity through different ingredients and spirits.

I’m Roystar, The Magical Mixologist. My passion for making craft drinks started as a teenager when I became a barista at Starbucks. Before turning 21, I left the coffee business and obtained a strong interest in fine dining. Shortly after starting as a support staffer, I did not feel as passionate about my new duties, I knew there was more for me. Instead of giving up, I vowed to work harder than the servers and bartenders. I learned as much as I could and eventually became the youngest bartender on property, ever!

Possibilities were endless--moving on to become one of the best mixologists, making cocktail menus and teaching my magic to others throughout RDU and now , the world.
